Jordan Knauff & Company Hosts Enhancing Valuation Presentation for Business Owners
Jordan Knauff & Company recently hosted its first in a series of special presentations for business owners and executives. Mr. William R. Snow, Managing Director at Jordan Knauff & Company, presented “Enhancing Valuation in a Business Transaction” to a select group of executives.
Mr. Snow covered subjects including what business owners should do prior to raising growth capital or selling their businesses, the importance of strong financial reporting and controls, a description of expenses that might be added-back to improve profitability, and an in-depth analysis of how business owners should think about valuation. While competition and a well-run, professional process are imperative to either a business sale or capital raise transaction, Mr. Snow concluded, the simplest and most straight forward technique to increase a company’s valuation is to make sure the company is as attractive as possible to the ultimate buyer and then focus on conveying that value proposition from the beginning of the process.
Jordan Knauff & Company’s presentations are part of the firm’s efforts to provide its constituents – business owners and the professionals who work with them – insightful, helpful, and actionable information on important issues. Other presentations include “The Business Sale Process,” “Avoiding Problems During Due Diligence,” and “The Approach: Helpful Communication Tips When Trying to Buy A Business.”
In addition to the presentations offered directly to business owners, Mr. Snow regularly speaks to educational and professional groups. He recently spoke to an entrepreneurship class at DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business giving students a chance to hear real world advice normally reserved for senior executives. In addition to DePaul, Mr. Snow has addressed groups at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, Harvard Business School, the Executives Opportunities Forum, and the University Club-Chicago.
Mr. Snow is an experienced investment banker, speaker, panelist, and writer. He has 25 years of experience as a business leader and advisor and is also the author of Mergers & Acquisitions For Dummies. Mr. Snow earned an M.B.A. in entrepreneurship and a B.S. in Finance, both from DePaul University.
