Middle-market investment bank Jordan Knauff & Company (JKC) is pleased to announce that iOR Holdings, Inc. (iOR Partners or the Company) closed on a Series D Preferred round to finance the Company’s growth as it prepares for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reimbursement approval. iOR Partners brings the advantages of office-based surgery to the ophthalmology industry. JKC served as the exclusive financial advisor to iOR Partners throughout the process.
Based in Kansas City, Missouri, iOR Partners provides ophthalmic surgeons with an innovative business model designed to facilitate the transition of ophthalmic lens replacement surgery from the traditional hospital or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) to a surgeon’s own office space. Office-based surgery integrates clinic and surgery in one location providing patients a familiar and personalized premium surgical experience. The Company currently has more than 100 iOR Suites open or in development with more than 100,000 successful outcomes performed in iOR Suites.
The Company partners with surgeons on the turnkey development of office-based suites by providing comprehensive guidance regarding the feasibility, profitability, space planning, and timeline for the completion of the surgical suite; along with review of the buildout, deliverables, and target dates. In addition, iOR Partners provides operational support services including staff training, billing assistance, inventory management, and compliance adherence. iOR Partners’ executive management is comprised of over 85 years of experience in ophthalmology, corneal and refractive surgery, as well as surgical administration, management, operations, and development of ASC and office-based suites.
The targeted ophthalmic surgical procedures in these office-based surgery suites are the over four million cataract, refractive lens exchange, and phakic intraocular lens procedures completed in the U.S. each year. With an aging population, these surgery volumes are expected to reach six million by 2030.
Mr. G. Cook Jordan, Jr., Managing Principal of JKC, commented, “iOR Partners is the next step in the evolution of ophthalmic surgery, moving it from hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to office-based surgery. Utilizing the latest high-tech equipment for the highest level of patient safety, the Company’s evolutionary concept integrates clinic and surgery which reduces patient anxiety often associated with a hospital or ASC.”
